Overview:
FreshDirect is one of the nation’s leading online food brands, known for its convenient home delivery service and the manufacture of fresh, delicious food. Changing the way customers shop for groceries since 2002, the company uses a direct distribution model with in-house, overnight production that cuts out the middleman and helps FreshDirect offer farm-fresh food at low prices. Every product is 100% satisfactory guaranteed, every time. Since FreshDirect takes delivery directly from farms and manufacturers and delivers those products the very next day, compared to conventional grocery stores that move their products through much longer supply chains, the foods offered at FreshDirect are fresher and better quality at lower prices.
Responsibilities:
FreshDirect’s Data Management and Business Intelligence team is focused on providing quality data for the business to support enterprise decision making through greater access to information. Reporting environments we support include Business Objects Web Intelligence and Crystal Xcelsius. In order to better serve our business, we are building a data warehouse to store and optimize data from 25+ transactional source systems, including SAP 4.6C.
The data warehouse will be developed in four sequential phases, one for each core business unit:
• Delivery Transportation (complete)
• Plant Operations
• Website and Merchandising
• Marketing
In addition, we are developing a near-realtime Management Information System to support decision making with actionable information throughout production and delivery.
Qualifications:
We are looking for an ETL design guru with expertise in Business Objects Data Integrator to support our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and near-realtime Management Information System (MIS).
The qualified applicant is expected to:
*Lead the existing ETL team (3 developers) as well as offshore team
*Have proven experience leading ETL teams
*Have 3+ years of Business Objects Data Integrator experience using Data Integrator in a Unix environment to perform extraction, transformation and loading of data warehouse and data marts
*Understand business rules to implement, test, debug and document data integrator batch jobs and realtime jobs to extract data from a variety of data sources (DB2, Oracle, file formats, XML, SAP R3, ODBC)
*Be well versed in creating data stores, file formats, XML formats, jobs, work flows, data flows, custom functions
*Have 1+ year experience with SAP adaptor kit for Data Integrator and some knowledge of translating ABAP programs to Data Integrator ETL routines
*Must have strong communication skills (verbal and written) and be able to present to senior managers
*Work independently or as part of team
*Understand existing jobs/work flows and provide performance tuning and troubleshooting
*Have strong SQL skills
*Refine business requirements and generate design documents, test plans, etc.
